About me

I've spent a decade in the collision zone where traditional finance meets crypto-native infrastructure — first building the systems, now backing the builders.

In 2015, I co-founded J.P. Morgan's blockchain group, Onyx. We built the bank's earliest initiatives across digital assets, market infrastructure, and tokenization — work that became the foundation for what is now Kinexys. I learned how legacy financial plumbing actually works from the inside: the settlement layers, the correspondent banking chains, the coordination costs that compound faster than the revenue they support. More importantly, I learned where those systems break.

In 2019, I joined Pantera Capital as a General Partner, where I lead early-stage venture and token investments across DeFi, infrastructure, Web3 gaming, and BitcoinFi. I sit on the boards of Bitso, Azra Games, Pintu, MakersPlace, InfiniGods, Mezo, and Helika.

Between JPMorgan and Pantera, I co-founded Scale8 Partners, an advisory firm serving early-stage DeFi protocols, exchanges, and infrastructure projects — and started my venture career at ff Venture Capital in New York.

I hold a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Why onSequences

Most analysis tells you what will happen. The better stuff tells you why. Almost nobody tells you how. How to map the path — the order of events, the dependencies that must unlock, the dominoes that must fall before the final one tips.

That's the gap where real insight lives: Sequencing.

I write On Sequences to map those paths. Each essay identifies a destination — where capital markets, crypto infrastructure, or institutional behavior is inevitably heading — and works backward through the milestones required to get there. The goal is to make inevitability legible before it becomes obvious.

This newsletter draws from ten years on both sides of the Wall Street–crypto divide. I've watched banks try to build blockchain systems from the inside and watched crypto-native protocols challenge those same banks from the outside. That dual vantage point — the ancient pipes and the modern rails — is what shapes everything I write.

New essays publish Mondays at 6am ET and on Twitter/X on Thursdays at 10am ET.
